Castleisland postponed due to ongoing insurance crisis

Due to the ongoing insurance crisis,  pony racing at Castleisland been postponed.
If a resolve is found to this disastrous insurance issue the meeting will hopefully take place on the 10th of July.

As the wait for word that insurance has been provided goes we have some positive news. Moira races will be held on Saturday and Sunday 2nd and 3rd of July.
This meeting will be run under Moira’s own U.K insurance policy.

Provided the insurance situation in Ireland is resolved and Insurance is provided Castleisland will take place on the 10th of July and Athea Races on Sunday 26th June

We had this weekend horses and jockeys travelling to Hawick in Scotland to compete.

Irish contenders who attended the Hawick meeting in Scotland took 6 of the 8 races  and 4  Irish jockies securing wins.

Winning Horses: Verstappen , CallTheFBI, HonestBernie x2 , WayUpNorth, DonegalBay,

Winning Jockies  Kian McNally x3, Adam Grant, Dylan OConnor ,TommyHalford,

Winning Owners Ian&Hannah Worrell x4 Ann Keerigan, Team Mac,

Hopefully this is not what the future holds for owners, trainers, and jockeys, because Ireland is unable to provide Insurance for a sport that had hundreds of years of history and could very possibly end right before our eyes.
